Day 1
Fly on an overnight flight from London direct to Argentina's sophisticated capital, Buenos Aires, a flight time of around 14 hours.
Day 2
Arrive this morning in the city in Buenos Aires, with its beautiful wide boulevards, leafy and spacious parks, superb shopping and chic café society.
Day 3
Take a private guided tour of the city today exploring its contrasts from modern port at Madero to leafy Parisian style boulevards in Recoleta and the colourful La Boca neighbourhood.
Day 4
Head down by air to El Calafate in southern Patagonia, the gateway to the impressive Glaciers National Park, on the shores of Lake Argentino.
Day 5
Join a small group trip to explore the largest glacier in the park, Perito Moreno, admiring its ice-mass from a series of walkways and taking a boat trip out to get a closer view.
Day 6
Today cross Lake Argentino to arrive at Estancia Cristina, a traditional Patagonian ranch. Admire stunning views of Upsala Glacier and explore the rugged terrain by 4wd and on foot.
Day 7
A short flight from El Calafate brings you to the southernmost tip of Argentina at Ushuaia in time to embark your expedition cruise through the Beagle Channel and to Cape Horn.
Day 8
Today is the day you arrive at Cape Horn, weather permitting, to explore this rocky promontory that overlooks the wild oceans of the Drake Passage. Also stop at historic Wulaia Bay.
Day 9
An overnight sailing brings you through narrow channels to wake up facing Pia Glacier. Explore the fjord by zodiac and land for a short hike before continuing on to a second visit at Garibaldo Glacier.
Day 10
Sail into Agostini Sound for a stunning view of glaciers descending from the Darwin Mountains. Get up close to these remarkable icefields by zodiac boat with your expedition guides.
Day 11
Anchor off Magdalena Island which you can land at among a huge colony of Magellanic penguins (Oct-Mar). Disembark in Punta Arenas in Chile to transfer to Puerto Natales, gateway to Torres del Paine National Park.
Day 12
Join a small group tour today to head into Torres del Paine Park and hike the iconic Base of the Towers trail that takes you to the foot of these dramatic granite peaks.
Day 13
Today is more leisurely as you cruise from your hotel on Last Hope Sound to get a good view of Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers followed by a hearty traditional Patagonian barbeque lunch.
Day 14
Return to Punta Arenas to take a direct flight north to Chile's cosmopolitan capital, Santiago, framed by the Andes and wine country, your base for your final two nights.
Day 15
Your private guide will meet you for a tour of Santiago. Climb or take a gondola to the summit of San Cristobal for sensational views over the city and mountains.
Day 16
It's time to head home. Transfer from your hotel to the airport. Fly from Santiago via direct international flight back to London, travelling overnight.
