The Llao Llao Resort is one of Bariloche’s most iconic and well-known hotels, a much-loved Argentine institution, both in summer and winter, thanks to the ski slopes nearby. A superb setting on a beautiful peninsula overlooking Lake Nahuel Huapi. The rolling hills nearby host a very good golf course available to guests. The main hotel houses both the central areas and some rooms in a long building that makes the most of the lake views. It embraces the traditional alpine chalet style architecture of the area, with cosy wood panelled lounges, fireplaces and sofas and gardens leading down to the marina, beach and park.

When it comes to the rooms, there are a number of categories but we tend to prefer the rooms on the newer Moreno wing, accessed via bridge from the main hotel. These are more light, spacious and modern and of course with great lake views. This classic grand dame offers amazing facilities from a range of different dining experiences, an excellent spa and a huge indoor / outdoor infinity pool. They can arrange many activities from water sports, golf, fishing, skiing in season, archery and mountain biking, for example. If you like a touch of luxury and history then this is the place to be.
